Sandra
Weddle
January 4, 1947 — January 8, 2025
Franklin
Sandra M. Weddle, 78, of Franklin, IN, died peacefully with her family at her side at the Franciscan Hospice House on January 8th, 2025.
Sandy married Edward Weddle on September 7th, 1991 in Franklin, Indiana. Their marriage lasted over 30 years. He preceded her in death.
Sandy was the loving mother to her daughters Stephanie Stewart, Stacey (Tom) Brooks, and Wendy (Jerry) Preilis and the proud grandmother to Travis and Sydney Stewart, Grant and Gage Brooks, and Jacob and Gwen Preilis.
Sandy was born January 4th, 1947 in Bronx, New York to Howard James and Dorothy Grace (Rahmer) Rainey. The family moved to Franklin, Indiana in 1948 and later added 2 more children, Robin (Dave) Betts, who preceded her in death, and Jamie Rainey of New Whiteland.
Sandy attended Franklin Community Schools and graduated in 1965. Sandy married Michael Myers in 1969 and they were the owners of The Gingerbread House for many years.
After Sandy and Mike parted ways, she began her career in public service for the State of Indiana at the local Office of Family and Children. She was the first smile many desperate individuals and families would see upon entering the office. This career lasted over 25 years and her service to families in Johnson County was very influential.
In Sandy's retirement years, she worked for Cub Care with Franklin Community Schools. Here again, she had the chance to have an impact on the lives of children. She enjoyed this job so much, especially with her best friend, Vonda Price.
Sandy was the second mom to many of her daughters' friends and her house was always opened to whomever needed a place to stay. Her legacy of service can easily be seen in the lives of her family. Sandy will be missed by many.
