Sharon Louise (Kirby) Anness, 87, of Franklin, IN passed away Monday at the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park in Franklin, IN.

She was born October 5, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio to Addison Abner Kirby and Mary Elizabeth (Kazmaier) Kirby.  She married Albert Ray Anness on September 14, 1957 in Monroe, Michigan; he preceded her in death on July 4, 2017.

She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and was a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Sharon was a professional artist.  She had been a teacher of art in public education in Wisconsin.  Later, she had been a marketing design coordinator for Spic and Span Dry Cleaning in Wisconsin.

She was a member of New Point Christian Church in New Point, IN.

Sharon's enjoyment was art.

Survivors include her nieces Melody S. Bohrer (Jim) of Guilford, IN and Sheila Metzcar (David) of Sharps Chapel, TN, nephews Erik Kirby of Lima, OH and Guy Hapner (Pam) of Hamilton, OH, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, and a niece Dianne Bates preceded her in death.

Pastor Mark S. Vice will conduct a service on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 1PM at Compass Park Community and Event Center, 690 South State Street, Franklin, IN 46131 with visitation from 12 Noon until service time.  Burial will be at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery in Perrysburg, Ohio.
