Shirley M. George, 88, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born July 2, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN.

Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, IN.

She had been a banking supervisor armored car teller from 1982 until 2000 for American Fletcher National Bank later becoming Bank One in Indianapolis, IN.

Shirley was a former member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church and the Community Church of Greenwood.  She enjoyed sewing, crafting and reading.

Survivors include her four sons Greg T. George (Robin) of Columbus, IN, Jim W. George of Indianapolis, IN, Mark A. George (Cindy) of Bargersville, IN and Chris L. George (Jessica) of Prattville, AL, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a half-sister Terry Adams (Steve) of Franklin, IN.

Her mother Mable Lucille (Settles) VanOsdol and her stepfather Dr. Wesley L. VanOsdol preceded her in death.

Pastor Greg Coble will conduct a service on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 1:30PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com.  Friends may call Friday, October 20, 2023 from 11AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
