Shirley A. (Clouse) Kirkham, 90, of Greenwood, IN passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born June 6, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to Everett and Margaret (Sullivan) Clouse, was the first of 11, and graduated from Franklin Township High School in 1954 where she was a majorette.  Shirley married James A. "Jim" Kirkham on September 3, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN; he preceded her in death on January 1, 2024.

Her first job was with American Insurance Company, then secretary for Battery Salvage Inc. and Ace Battery Sales Inc. before retiring.

Shirley was a 62-year member of Rocklane Christian Church in Greenwood, IN where she served as the historian, provided research of the church history, and was the first kindergarten teacher at the church from 1964 until 1969.  She also had been a Cub Den Leader for her sons, a Clark Elementary School Room Mother, was the owner of Circle K Western Wear in Beech Grove, IN, showed her Hackney pony Speculation at the Indiana State Fair and other states plus Canada, secretary of the Indiana State Fair in the horse department, kept the point system for the Indiana Saddle Horse Association, secretary for the Pony of American Indiana Shetland Pony Club, and Acton Chapter #173 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughter Denise A. "Dee" Kirkham, sons James A. "Jay" Kirkham (Pam) and Hughe A. Kirkham (Nancy) all of Greenwood, IN, her grandchildren Larry "LJ" Carroll, Danielle Rush (Brandon), Christopher Kirkham (Susan), Matthew Kirkham (Brittany), Michael Kirkham (Mandi), her great grandchildren Alexis Henry, Bailey Kirkham, Braydon Rush, Aislynn Carroll, Mae Kirkham, Carter Rush, Brooke Kirkham and Beckett Kirkham, sisters Gladys Canada of Greenwood, IN, Nora Scudder of Renton, WA, brothers James Clouse, Everett "JR" Clouse (Sandy), Timothy Clouse (Tammy) all of Indianapolis, IN, sister-in-laws Janet Clouse and Brenda Clouse all of Indianapolis, IN, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James A. "Jim" Kirkham of 69 years, by her parents, sisters June Simmons, Barbara Doughlas, brothers Henry Clouse, John Clouse and Thomas Clouse.

An Order of the Eastern Star service will be conducted on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12 Noon at Rocklane Christian Church, 4430 East Rocklane Road in Greenwood by the Acton Chapter #173 followed by a service being conducted by Pastor Seth Amerine.  Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2025 from 10AM until service time at the church.  Burial will follow the service at Rocklane Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
