Obituary

Susan (Wilham) Dearth, 79 of Bargersville, IN passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Compass Park at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, IN.

She was born June 9, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to A. Dalbert Wilham and Mildred Janet (Kephart) Wilham.  Susan married Carl Emerson Dearth on July 11, 1970 in Indianapolis, IN; he preceded her in death on March 1, 2025.

Susan was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis, IN.

She had worked at Arvin's in Franklin, IN as an assembler and later the Bargersville State Bank.

Susan loved the Indiana State Fair working in the wool and sheep barn, and the dog shows.  She loved her horses and cats, going to the casinos. She also enjoyed and loved crafting and adult coloring books.  Susan had been a 4-H leader of the Johnson County Tail Wagers club.  She was also a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine.

Survivors include her daughter Lea Ingoldsby (Bobby) of Martinsville, IN, sons Leo Dearth (Tammy) of Knox, IN and Mike Dearth (Traci) of Franklin, IN, a grandson Travis Ingoldsby (Crystal Jefferies) of Martinsville, IN, granddaughter Caytee Ingoldsby (Ethan Wood) of Martinsville, IN, Katelyn Dearth, MacKenzie Dearth (Damion Marley), Madyson Dearth and Ashland Dearth all of Franklin, IN, a great-grandsons Andrew Dearth, Lucas Wood and Winston Marley, great-granddaughters Abilene Marley and Payton Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister Phyllis Kelso.

Pastor Mike Crockett will conduct a service on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/susandearth.  Friends may call Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 9:30 AM until service time at the mortuary.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
