Terence "Terry"
C. Zachery
November 23, 1942 — May 12, 2026
Franklin
Terence "Terry" C. Zachery, 83, of Franklin, went to be with the Lord peacefully on May 12, 2026.
Terry was born on November 23, 1942, in Ambia, IN to James Alfred Zachery and Ouida Leontine (Thomas) Zachery. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a loyal and caring friend to so many throughout his life.
Terry graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1960. This is where he met his high school sweetheart, love of his life, and wife of 64 years, Loucinda Hutchison. They met on their senior class trip to Washington DC. Their children and grandchildren have all heard the stories of Terry doing Lou's homework, going so far as to write two papers for the same assignment and getting caught by the teacher. Their love for each other was something beautiful to see until the very end.
Terry spent much of his time volunteering at church and helping others in any way he could. Those who knew him best will remember him for his joyful spirit, caring heart, wisdom, sense of humor and many stories to share. He consistently placed others before himself and was deeply devoted to loving and serving those around him well.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Loucinda Zachery; his brother, James Zachery; his children, Sean (Sarah) Zachery and Sirena Wuerfele; his grandchildren, Tyler (Corey) Zachery, Braxton (Lydia) Zachery, Trace (Katy) Zachery, and Sadie Wuerfele; and his four great-grandchildren, Louci Zachery, Phoebe Zachery, Dallas Zachery, and Eden Zachery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Jaquita Shore and Gwen Keith; his brother, Michael Zachery; and his daughter, Sabrina Deann Zachery.
A reception line will be held from 10am until Noon and service will follow at Noon on May 16, 2026, at Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 West 300 South, Franklin, IN 46131.
