Wayna K. (Mercer) Assenheimer, 80, of Franklin, IN and formerly longtime resident of Dayton, OH passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.

She was born August 20, 1942 in Wauseon, OH to Wayne John Mercer and Thelma (Lewis) Mercer.  She married William D. Assenheimer on November 20, 1966 in Wapakoneta, OH, he survives.

She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, OH.

She served as a Registered Nurse in Piqua, OH from 1963 until retiring in 1997.

Wayna dedicated her life of serving others.

Survivors include her husband William D. Assenheimer of Franklin, IN, a daughter Cynthia Cox (Kevin) of Fishers, IN, a granddaughter Grace Cox, a brother Joel Mercer (Janet) of Delaware, OH and a sister Cheryl Market (Michael) of Wapakoneta, OH.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Services are private.

Inurnment will take place at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
