William Von Patton Reese, 78, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community in Franklin, Indiana. He was born on February 18, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William W. Reese and Evelyn Lavon (Taylor) Reese.

On January 6, 1990, William married the love of his life, Viola Jane (Holtsclaw) Reese, in Martinsville, Indiana. They shared 35 years of love and companionship, and she survives him.

William was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, where he worked as a tool and die maker for 30 years, beginning his career on July 8, 1970, and retiring on July 8, 2000. After retirement, he and his wife Jane moved to Florida for several years, where he worked for Village Golf Cars and made many lifelong friendships. They later returned to Martinsville to be closer to family.

In his free time, William enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and playing cards. He loved spending time with family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was attending sporting events, dance recitals, or simply helping with projects, William was always there to lend a hand. His kindness and generosity left an impact on all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

William was a member of Hoosier Harvest Church and found great joy in sharing his time and experiences with others. He was a loving and devoted man whose legacy of love, friendship, and generosity will live on through his family.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Jane (Holtsclaw) Reese of Martinsville; daughters Billie J. Cooper (Robert D. Cooper) and Lorie R. Bright (Jeremy J. Bright), both of Martinsville; grandchildren Melinda Fontaine, Miranda Cooper, Joe Robinson (Megan), Jessica Fowler (Austin), and Caleb Bright (Ali); and great-grandchildren Michael Fontaine, Madison Fontaine, Matthew Fontaine, Meredith Fontaine, Harper Cooper, A.J. Robinson, Brody Robinson, Blakely Fowler, Chloe Bright, Carter Bright and Harper Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents William W. Reese and Evelyn Lavon Reese.

A time of sharing and gathering to celebrate William's life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hoosier Harvest Church, 4085 Leonard Road, Martinsville, Indiana.
