Obituary

Julie Ann Starkey Cheshire 53, was called home to join her mother in heaven the early morning hours of May 16th, 2020.  She is survived by her husband Robert B. Cheshire of Greenwood, IN, the light of her life, her son Joseph Liston of Conyers, GA, father and step-mother Joseph and Karen Starkey of Bridgeport, WV, brother and sister-in-law Adam and Donna Starkey of Bridgeport, WV, step brothers Josh and wife Jessica of Chattanooga, TN, Jeff and wife Michelle of Clarksburg, WV,  brothers-in-laws David Cheshire of Bridgeport, WV, Edward Cheshire and wife Rebecca of Hillard OH, Dr. Michael Cheshire and wife Gina of Parkersburg, WV, step daughters Angela Cheshire of Orlando, FL, Allison Weaver and husband Micah of Crawfordsville, IN, mother-in-law Nancy (Titchenal) Cheshire of Bridgeport, WV along with many special nieces, nephews and family members. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Ann Townsend Starkey, Grandmother Rose Townsend and father in law David Burr Cheshire.

Julie grew up in WV attending Bridgeport High School and graduating in 1984. After attending Fairmont State College, she found her calling as her mother Ruth Ann did working for the C&P Telephone Company. Julie then devoted herself to raising her son Joey full time.

Julie loved her family fiercely. She had a quick wit, vivacious personality and loved to make people laugh. Julie had a huge loving heart and a special fondness for the underdog.  She also passionately enjoyed arguing politics nearly as much with the same spunk and vigor. Julie loved to bake. She enjoyed sending cookies, cakes and pepperoni rolls to the firehouse, a lesson learned from Etta Carnes.

Julie and Rob reconnected after many years and became inseparable and as they say; they were just meant to be. Attending the Macy'sThanksgiving Day Parade with her husband became a favorite tradition of theirs as well as quiet cabin vacations in Indiana and Tennessee.  Julie loved live music concerts, musical theatre, and long drives to support local City and County Fairs that reminded her of West Virginia.

Julie enjoyed talking and spending time with many friends and family members, always touching the heart and soul of those she knew. Julie loved sharing time with her lifelong best and closest friend Robin. Even in childhood they always wished they had more time together, but her mother Ruth Ann wanted her home when the streetlights came on.
